John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
True love doesn't count the cost; it gives liberally. A true lover gives the best he has to offer and everything he has for the beloved. God proved his love for us by giving us the best he had to offer -- His only begotten Son who freely gave himself as an offering to God for our sake and as the atoning sacrifice for our sin and the sin of the world.
God desires that we give Him all the love in our heart; yes, He wants us, our entire beings. He yearns for our love. It is not our time and our abilities and our means that He desires most. All of that will not satisfy Him. God does not need our gifts or our service or our money. Really, He owns it all anyway! What He desires most is our hearts and our complete, undivided love. All we have to do is to come to Him in repentance and faith, and He then gives us forgiveness and eternal life in all its glory.
Have you given yourself completely to the Savior? He gave you His Son, because He loves you!
